My name's Thomas McKenna and this is my Teach Queensland story.

Coming from New York, the air smelled clean.

That was my first impression.

When I got the job out at St George.

I was driving, I screamed and I had to pull over.

You've never experienced more meaningful teaching than you do in a rural community.

You're actually part of something and you feel part of something.

I've told all over the world and I love teaching in regional Queensland.

Every experience was good experience, good experience, good experience.

We moved out going and we'll be back in two years and now we're talking well, which farm are we going to buy?

Best decision of our life!

One of the bonuses I had was the opportunities to actually work all over Queensland.

It's an adventure and that's what learning is about.

I walked into a school where I was one of a number of new people.

We were given lots of professional development and lots of mentoring and it was that level of community and caring that I really learnt from while I was in Gladstone.

I think all of it has just made me into what I hope is a quality educator.

I love teaching in Queensland.

I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather work.

My name is Hannah Parsons and this is my Teach Queensland story.

I grew up in South Island of New Zealand.

I love teaching but I was ready for a change.

I landed a job in Central Queensland.

This opportunity has made me a stronger teacher.

I have a great group of supportive colleagues.

I’m really proud for making the move.

You can't beat the lifestyle.

I rang home about two days after I arrived and told my parents I'm not coming back.

Nothing beats teaching in Queensland.
