Tammy is a proud Murri teacher at Bwgcolman Community School on Palm Island in North Queensland. She started her teaching journey in her forties and has been teaching for five years. Her advice to preservice teachers is that teaching is hard work, empowering and rewarding.

"For me, its been the most joyful and the most purposeful career that I’ve embarked on. I didn’t know if it was going to be this way but now I’m here, I enjoy it immensely."
