Making the most out of teaching at Mornington Island

When you teach in Queensland, you get paid to live and work in some of the most beautiful and culturally diverse locations in Australia. This is Serena’s, specialist science teacher, life changing experience of living and teaching in the remote Indigenous community of Mornington Island.

In this video, Serena shares her journey from working at the CSIRO into teaching and what inspired her to make that move. She shares some of the things she enjoys about teaching at Mornington Island State School, including being immersed in the stories and songs of Indigenous culture and her advice for beginning teachers.
