Our application process

Our dedicated teacher recruitment team is here to connect you with teaching roles that align with your skills, teaching areas and preferred locations, whether in vibrant urban centres or welcoming regional, remote, and coastal communities.

We work with our principals and school leaders across the state to understand their workforce needs and to match applicants with great opportunities every day.

Before you apply, be sure to check:

When to apply

We make offers of employment every day and we encourage you to apply as early as possible, so we know you are interested in teaching in Queensland state schools. Applying early can increase your chance of securing a teaching role that’s available when you’re ready to start teaching and aligns with your subject area, desired location and employment preferences.

You don’t need to wait until you graduate to apply and we recommend that preservice teachers submit their application early in their final year of study.

If you already have teacher registration or are an experienced teacher making the leap into state schools, you can submit your application at any time.

How to apply

You’ll need to submit your application via our online portal, so we can confirm your eligibility for employment and consider you for relevant vacancies.

You can start your application at any time and return to it later to add the required documents and information. You can also update your employment and location preferences at any time.
