The region includes the growth corridors across Brisbane’s western suburbs within close proximity to Ipswich, as well as the multicultural hubs of Sunnybank, and inner-city suburbs like West End, East Brisbane and Bulimba.
There are also a number of schools located on islands in southern Moreton Bay, including Stradbroke Island, Russell Island and MacLeay Island.
The region offers a blend of urban conveniences, rural lifestyles, natural beauty and affordable living, ensuring it’s an attractive option for teachers.

This includes opportunities in special schools as well as unique opportunities in settings such as the Queensland Children's Hospital School and Brisbane Youth Education and Training Centre.
The increasing number of primary schools and students is driving a steady demand for primary school teachers, while demand for secondary teachers may vary depending on subject areas and school location.
