Queensland is a huge state and our state schools are (almost) everywhere.
Roughly 37% of our schools are in major cities, with the rest in regional or remote communities. We offer
a range of teaching environments, including
State Delivered Kindergartens, hospital schools, special schools and schools in
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Almost half of Queensland state schools have less than 200 students.
If you teach in a school outside our major cities, you may be eligible to receive additional
rural and remote benefits, like extra leave, subsidised accommodation and a larger number of opportunities for permanent employment. It's worth exploring if you're open to relocating.
Queensland regions
Our state schools are clustered into 8 regions each offering distinct benefits and experiences. View the map below to explore these regions.
