Moving with a family

Deputy Principal Ben had been looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Gold Coast, so when the opportunity came up for him to move with his family to Doomadgee to take up a teaching opportunity, he jumped at the chance. As a nurse, his wife was easily able to find employment in the community and they were able to secure a day care place for their son, Kenji. Ben says that it was a great move for their family.

'The community was very warm and welcoming, especially for Kenji. They really embraced us and everywhere we go, Kenji is a bit of a superstar.'
