Our support

We offer a range of scholarships, grants and pathways to help you step into a fulfilling career as a teacher. Our support can include:

• scholarships and grants: financial assistance during your studies, access to unique teaching e​xperiences and permanent employment as a teacher after graduation
• professional experience grants: financial support to help you undertake your compulsory placements in state schools across Queensland
• pathways and internships: programs and assistance to get you into the classroom faster and provide financial support while you study
• community-based teacher education (RATEP): a supported pathway for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who aspire to become teachers
• beginning teacher incentives and support: comprehensive support, mentoring and development opportunities, as well as financial incentives when you start teaching
• support for employees: ac​cess to paid leave to undertake professional experience placements and exams through the Support​ed Pathway into Teaching initiative.

Study teaching

There is a wide range of qualifications that will give you the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to start your teaching career. If you already have a tertiary degree in a different field, you may be eligible to do a shorter post-graduate course. View our qualifications and prerequisites.​
