It is assumed that students have completed units three and four in English and Maths. These are the minimum prerequisites to ensure you’re eligible to start your teaching degree once you finish school, so it’s important you prepare early and choose the right senior subjects.

Please note that the science prerequisite for entry to primary and early childhood education degrees has been removed from 2025. The Non-academic eligibility requirements have also been suspended for 2025. For further details please view the information provided by Queensland College of Teachers about Teacher Education Programs.
