  • Sunshine Coast
  • Gympie
  • Fraser Coast (Maryborough/Hervey Bay)
  • Bundaberg/Discovery Coast.

Teaching and living in the region

The region boasts a consistently pleasant climate, affordable living, and breathtaking scenery.

All areas have access to universities, airports and hospitals, and offer relaxed, family friendly lifestyles. Children can participate in a range of sports and outdoor activities in one of the best climates in the world.

We often see higher demand for teachers in the Kilcoy, Caboolture, Bribie Island, Bundaberg, Gin Gin, Rosedale, Hervey Bay, Maryborough and Childers areas. All these communities have affordable housing, so if it’s your dream to own your own home, the North Coast region can help make it a reality.

Professional development

There are a number of professional development programs that you have access to when you teach with us.

Priority opportunities

There is significant development happening in the Moreton Bay area, increasing our need for more teachers. Moreton Bay is close to Brisbane city and the Sunshine Coast, and has major health, education, and transport infrastructure nearby.

There are also opportunities arising across the year on Bribie Island in the Moreton Bay area, and in the regional cities of Maryborough, Hervey Bay and Bundaberg.

Things to do

You can look forward to a mix of cultural and physical activities, dining and shopping experiences, and idyllic coastal and hinterland getaways. The region is close to Brisbane so you can still attend major concerts and events!

Here are 10 ways to explore the North Coast region in your downtime:

  1. Shop local at Eumundi Markets, Australia's premier artisan market.
  2. Enjoy the sun and the surf at the Sunshine Coast's pristine beaches.
  3. Climb stunning mountains and explore quaint hinterland villages.
  4. Get active on a Sunshine Coast cycling route.
