There’s never been a better time to teach in a Queensland state school, with more world-class facilities and record spending on infrastructure.

With 8 new schools opened at the start of 2020 and 5 more brand-new schools being built for 2021, the Queensland Government is meeting the needs of our growing communities.

The Renewing Our Schools program is investing $235 million to provide state-of-the-art learning facilities, while the $250 million 2020 Ready Program recently delivered facilities and classrooms needed to accommodate 6 full secondary school cohorts.

As part of our commitment to provide teachers and students with quality learning environments, the Queensland Government will continue to deliver air-conditioning to hundreds of state schools, with air-conditioning units going into 301 schools this financial year.

And to ensure our schools are minimising their impact on the environment, the $97 million Advancing Clean Energy Schools Program is reducing energy costs through solar and energy efficiency measures.
