Katrina is a Primary teacher at Ferny Grove State School and a proud Central Queensland University graduate. Over her 22 year career, Katrina has worked in multiple regions across the state, taught overseas, trained teachers in curriculum and even been a small school Principal.

Katrina enjoys creating connections via blogging, social media and storytelling. When she is not engaging her students’ love of learning, Katrina is stepping out in style at different events. She has turned her passion for fashion and living life confidently into inspiration and education for adults.

Lauren has over 12 years’ experience in secondary Health and Physical Education and has most recently been at Whites Hill State College assisting in the design of the primary and secondary HPE curriculum.

Since graduating from Griffith University, Lauren has made the most of the flexibility of the profession and taught across the state. She is mum to three and passionate about promoting the lifestyle that teaching offers and departmental support for family life. Lauren enjoys all things active and has been known to serenade her classes with her original musical masterpieces.

Serena joins us from Mornington Island State School, a remote indigenous community school in the Gulf of Carpentaria in our North Queensland region. She has a diverse range of teaching experiences, working with students from Prep to Year 10 at international, remote, and Brisbane schools. She holds a Bachelor of Science (UQ) and studied her postgraduate Education degree at QUT. Serena loves that her career in education supports her passion for adventure, travel and conservation.

For the past two years she has been working as a science specialist, fulfilling a lifelong dream of becoming Miss Frizzle and taking students for field trips on her Magic School Bus.

Joel is a Primary teacher at Caravonica State School in Cairns. He graduated from James Cook University and has worked in the United Kingdom and Emerald in our Central Queensland region. Joel has a strong interest in teacher wellbeing and creating a positive working environment.

When he is not inspiring his students to find their inner superhero, Joel can be found enjoying the serenity and wide open spaces on his family cattle farm.
