Permanent teaching jobs

Permanent teaching jobs for Queensland state schools may be advertised on SmartJobs and LinkedIn throughout the year.

You can also register for SmartJob email alerts and connect with us via our newsletter for the latest vacancy listings, professional development opportunities and more.

Casual and temporary teaching jobs

If you indicate a preference for teaching in a casual and/or temporary capacity on your application for teacher employment, you will be automatically activated in the MyHR Recruitment TRACER program (department employee ID required to log in). You will be contacted directly about suitable casual roles, or short term temporary roles.

Submit an application

If you're a final year preservice teacher, you can submit an application now to be considered for employment early in your final year of studies. Other applicants may also submit an application at any time, in addition to applying for current vacancies.

Let us know you're looking

If you're an applicant teacher, please contact our regional recruiters and individual school principals directly to let them know what kind of teaching job you're looking for. Check out the map of our schools to find out where they're located and principal contact details.

Don't forget it's also a good idea to periodically make sure your details are up to date with the Teacher Applicant Centre and LinkedIn.
